AI Visibility for dentists

How do I get my dental practice recommended by ChatGPT?

Patients ask ChatGPT for a dentist that fits their situation — “takes Delta Dental”, “emergency dentist open Saturday”, “good with anxious kids” — and it recommends the practices whose pages state those facts plainly. Insurance lists, new-patient availability and emergency policies are the facts practices most often leave off their websites.

What your customers actually type

“dentist near me that takes Delta Dental” “emergency dentist open Saturday” “pediatric dentist good with anxious kids” “dentist accepting new patients near me” “dentist that does same-day crowns” “dentist that offers sedation for nervous patients”

Each of these is a question the assistant answers by naming a few businesses. The ones it names are the ones whose pages answer that exact question.

Patients ask about fit, not just quality

Most dental questions are filters: does this office take my plan, can they see me this week, do they treat kids, do they offer sedation. If your site doesn’t answer the filter, the assistant can’t put you through it, and it names a practice that did write it down, or a booking directory.

What your pages need to say

  • Insurance plans you’re in network with, by name, and whether you file out of network.
  • Whether you’re accepting new patients, and how soon a new patient can usually be seen.
  • Your emergency policy: same-day slots, after-hours number, Saturday hours.
  • Services in patients’ words: cleanings, crowns, implants, clear aligners, whitening, sedation, children’s dentistry.
  • Languages spoken in the office.

Dental practice checklist

  1. Insurance plans accepted, listed by name

    The most common filter question.

  2. New patients: yes or no, and typical wait

“Accepting new patients” is asked constantly.

  3. Emergency and weekend policy in writing

Urgent questions want a clear yes.

  4. Services in patients’ words, one line each

    Matches how people ask.

  5. Kids and nervous patients: what you offer

    A frequent deciding question.

  6. Languages spoken by the dentists and front desk

A real filter for many families.

  7. Hours and the emergency number matching on Google, Bing, Yelp and Apple Maps

    Wrong hours send emergencies elsewhere.

Check it yourself in five minutes

  1. 1

Open ChatGPT in a private (incognito) window, so it isn't shaped by your own history, and ask: “dentist near me that takes Delta Dental”

  2. 2

Ask the same question two more times, worded a little differently. Answers change from one ask to the next, so one try is not a verdict.

  3. 3

Write down who gets named, in what order, and what it says about each. Then ask it directly about your business by name and check every fact: hours, address, what you sell.

  4. 4

Do the same in Perplexity and Claude if you can. The businesses that show up everywhere are the ones whose facts are clear in the places all of them read.

Questions

Can we list insurance plans if they change?

Yes. Keep the list current and date it. A dated, accurate list beats no list.

Is there anything we shouldn’t put on these pages?

Never patient details. Keep claims to facts you can back up (services, plans, hours) and follow your state board’s advertising rules.

Do patient reviews matter more than the website?

Both matter. Reviews tell an assistant people are happy; your pages tell it whether you fit the patient’s plan and situation. The second part is usually what’s missing.

Type your practice’s website. We read your homepage the way a search crawler does and list what’s missing: business details assistants look for, page titles and descriptions, and anything hidden from search. Results show right on the page. No card, no account.
